Sailing Vessel Volta

Block Island 40

Volta is a classic yacht that was originally commissioned by John Nicholas Brown, the commodore of the New York Yacht Club. The yacht has a unique deck layout with integrated deck boxes made of Honduras mahogany.

The hull and deck were professionally stripped to the base and redone in white Awl Grip in 2002. For one of several articles on this Bill Tripp-designed classic yacht and the mention of Volta, see the Practical Sailor article on the Block Island 40.
